The Cover of a Magazine.
Our last lesson was about magazines and their covers. We learnt about the ways in which a magazine attracts a reader, and the reason it's laid out the way it is. The cover is to set the general tone for the magazine and it should be fairly easy to identify the genre just by seeing the cover. The cover is very important for sales, 95% of magazines are bought in newsagents and for a potential reader so the cover needs to be attractive to a potential reader. The magazines above are the ones we looked at in class; a generic soap magazine, rock magazine Kerrang, and indie NME.
I annotated the front of a Rocksound magazine and picked up on the important parts of it
